We are thankful for the clarity in the Report of the House of Bishops of the Church of England (Marriage and Same Sex Relationships after the Shared Conversations) which today reaffirmed marriage as a lifelong union of one man and one woman. This was affirmed by the Primates who gathered in Canterbury last year.
We continue to pray that the leadership of the Scottish Episcopal Church will also have the wisdom, courage and humility to follow the example of our neighbouring province, by keeping our marriage canon law as it is, rather than move towards further fragmentation of the Anglican Communion.
